I'm a Mathematics and Data Science graduate of the London School of Economics, and I now run a startup that uses machine learning in drug discovery, so I put the maths I teach to work every day. I studied Maths, Physics, Computer Science and Chemistry at A-level, earning an A* in Maths, and I'm a two-time gold medallist in the National Physics Olympiad. I tutor Maths, Physics and Computer Science from GCSE through A-level, and I also prepare students for university admissions tests and Oxbridge applications. Having recently sat these exams myself, I know exactly where students get stuck. My approach is patient and diagnostic: I find the gap, rebuild from there, and focus on real understanding and problem-solving rather than memorising. With more than 11 years of experience as a Maths Teacher and being a well-rounded educator, I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of students in key stages 1, 2, 3 and 4, thus enhancing my teaching techniques and instructional methods. Hi! My name is Aurora and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying a Masters in Development Economics. I am originally from Italy, but I moved to the UK when I was 16 and sat both my GCSEs and A Levels in London. In my GCSEs I achieved 8 A* and 4 A grades. These were the second-highest results in my cohort, despite the fact I had only been living in England for two years before sitting my exams. At sixth form, I taught myself French A Level in just one year and achieved an A grade, the highest grade in my class. I have always found learning languages an extremely rewarding, albeit sometimes frustrating process. Although languages open up doors to new ways of thinking and seeing the world around you, grasping the different aspects of a language, such as its grammar, can be demoralising. And that’s what I am here for - as a fellow language learner, I can empathise with the difficulties of this process and will do my best to make it as smooth and fun as possible.
