I finished with ABC in A-Levels for Maths (AQA), Chemistry (OCR) and Biology (AQA) respectively, while in AS-Level (lower 6th form) I achieved AABC for Maths, Chemistry, Biology and French respectively. I completed my GCSEs with 1 A* (Maths), 5 As (Additional Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and French) and 3 Bs (Economics, ICT and English).

Before joining the Sussex I obtained my masters degree in chemistry from the University of York graduating with first-class honours. I particularly enjoy spending time in the lab, with my work being focused on developing new chemical reactions. Outside of the lab, you can usually find me strategising over the chess board, exploring worlds in the latest video games or stopping my cats from causing chaos! Typically, my lessons consist of explaining concepts to students that they have been struggling with, followed by crucial problem-solving and exam practice to build confidence. Following each session/ topic, you can expect homework/ exam questions, which I will mark and provide crucial regular feedback. I am currently a 3rd year PhD student at the University of Sussex. My research is based within organic chemistry and is centred on developing new reactions of interest to the pharmaceutical industry. Before joining Sussex I completed MChem at the University of York graduating with First-class honours. Prior to joining the University of York, I attended Oakwood Park Grammar school where I completed both my A-level and GCSE qualifications the results of which are detailed below. I love to travel, read, eat and try new activities! I like learning about different cultures and the history behind the cultures. I took up running during the pandemic and my aim is to one day run a half marathon and once that's achieved, run a full marathon. I love teaching and am very passionate about it. I did GCSEs in Maths, English, Science, RS, Drama, ICT, Business Studies, and got additional qualifications such as Critical Thinking AS Level when I was in secondary school. Hello! My name is Erin, I am currently a first year medical student at the University of Birmingham. As a tutor, my main aim is to quickly determine a students weaknesses, then create a dedicated study plan to help them improve in those areas. I believe that active recall, spaced repetition, and lots and lots of past paper questions - are the key to success! I am well versed in tutoring students of all ages; I have tutored various students ranging from ages 6 to 16 in a variety of different settings. I am also experienced in entrance exam tutoring. Having sat several entrance exams over my lifetime, I understand how to make a study plan that is both time efficient and effective, and how to utilise this study plan effectively. I have previously mentored students who wish to study medicine through UCAS, entrance exam and interview preparation; several of them currently study at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge! In my spare time, I am a highly creative person - I frequently attend dance classes, I music direct/conduct my university choir, and I scrapbook! I’m Mahima, a second-year medical student at Aston University. I’m a friendly, patient and motivated person who really enjoys helping others learn and become more confident in themselves. I’ve always enjoyed Chemistry and Maths, and through tutoring my siblings and supporting friends during their A Levels, I’ve developed a real passion for teaching. Outside of studying, I enjoy doing mehndi, going on walks, visiting new cities and spending time with my family. I attended Nunnery Wood High School, where I completed my GCSEs in 2023. I achieved Grade 9s in Chemistry, Physics, Maths, English Literature, English Language, Geography, Business and Religious Studies alongside Grade 8s in Biology and French. During my time at school, I also completed six months of online medical work experience through Allied Healthcare Mentors. Hi, I’m Christopher Jordanou, a Finance BSc student at Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London, with over two years of tutoring experience. Most importantly, I have a proven track record as a tutor. This past academic year, three of my students achieved A/A* grades, which I am extremely proud of. My aim is not simply to help students learn the content, but to give them the understanding, exam technique and confidence needed to achieve their full potential. How I teach I start by working through the relevant exam-board specification with each student to identify their strengths, weaker areas and the topics where they need the most support. This allows me to create lessons around the individual student rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. We then work through each topic thoroughly, focusing first on understanding the fundamentals. I believe students perform much better when they genuinely understand a topic rather than simply trying to memorise information. Once the student is comfortable with the content, we move on to exam-style questions and past-paper practice. This is a key part of my teaching because knowing the content alone is not always enough to achieve the highest grades. Students also need to understand exactly what examiners are looking for, how to structure their answers and how to apply their knowledge under exam conditions. I also provide homework between lessons, where appropriate. This may include exam questions, additional research, revision tasks or planning longer written answers. This helps reinforce what we have covered and allows me to identify anything that needs further attention in the next lesson. Whether a student is struggling with a subject, looking to improve by a few grades or aiming for the top grades, I adapt my teaching to their current level and goals. My approach is straightforward: understand the content, develop strong exam technique, practise consistently and build confidence. I took 10 GCSEs achieving 7s and above in all including an 8 in Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Geography and a 9 in Business studies. At A level I studied Economics, Geography and Maths. I had achieved an A in all three at A level. I currently study finance BSc at Bayes Business School City University of London.
