I’ve been tutoring since 2022, working with students from diverse backgrounds and adapting to different learning styles. One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is seeing students grow from feeling uncertain about a subject to approaching it with confidence. Through my medical studies, I’ve developed the ability to break down complex concepts into simple, clear, and easy-to-understand explanations. I bring this approach to my tutoring, alongside patience, dedication, and a genuine commitment to helping every student reach their potential. I understand how overwhelming schoolwork and exams can sometimes feel, so I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. I believe that no subject has to feel impossible with the right guidance and approach. Whether you need help understanding challenging science concepts, preparing for exams, or developing effective study habits, I’m here to help you build both your knowledge and your confidence. If you’re looking for a tutor who is approachable, reliable, and passionate about making learning easier and more enjoyable, I’d love to work with you! Together, we’ll break down challenging topics, celebrate your progress, and work towards achieving your academic goals. I specialize in Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and General Science, supporting students across a range of academic levels: Primary Lower (KS1) Primary Higher (KS2) Secondary Lower (KS3) Secondary Higher (KS4–KS5) I tailor my lessons to each student’s needs, learning style, and academic goals, making learning engaging and effective. As a fifth-year medical student, I use my scientific knowledge and problem-solving skills to explain challenging concepts in a clear and simple way. My teaching approach is patient and adaptable, helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and prepare for exams at their own pace. My goal is to make learning enjoyable while empowering every student to reach their full academic potential.

My name is Mark Sean A. Manubag, and I hold a degree in Chemistry. For the past two years, I’ve been teaching and tutoring high school and college students, mainly in math, chemistry, and physics. I love making complex topics feel simple and approachable for learners at different levels. As a teacher, I am patient, supportive, and goal-oriented. I believe in guiding students step by step until they feel confident in themselves. One of my strengths is breaking down difficult concepts into clear, relatable ideas. Seeing students progress—from struggling on quizzes to celebrating their own achievements—is what inspires me to teach. My teaching style is interactive and student-centered. I enjoy connecting lessons to real-life examples, whether through cooking, music, or everyday situations, so that learning feels both meaningful and fun. I’ve found that when students can relate to a topic, they learn faster and remember it longer. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, exploring different genres of music, and learning languages. At the moment, I’m studying Italian, which helps me stay in touch with the challenges of being a learner myself. That perspective allows me to connect more deeply with my students and encourage them to see learning as a lifelong skill. Teaching, for me, is about helping students discover their own potential. I want my learners to not only improve their grades but also develop the confidence and curiosity that will benefit them well beyond the classroom. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. During my studies, I gained extensive training in laboratory instrumentation, including GCMS, FTIR, AAS, and UV-Vis, and completed internships with the Food and Drug Administration of the Philippines, the Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the Philippine–Japan Active Carbon Corporation. My undergraduate thesis focused on the spectrophotometric determination of phenolics from plant extracts, which strengthened my background in analytical chemistry. After graduation, I successfully passed the Philippine Licensure Examination for Chemists in September 2014. Alongside my academic journey, I began working as a freelance tutor between 2012 and 2014, supporting high school and college students in mathematics, chemistry, and other sciences. Many of the students I taught came from institutions with advanced science and math programs, while others needed help building foundational understanding. Through one-on-one lessons, I developed a teaching approach that emphasized patience, step-by-step guidance, and real-life applications, helping students not only grasp concepts but also build confidence in their own abilities. This tutoring experience deepened my passion for education and showed me the impact of making complex topics simple and engaging. I take pride in seeing students’ progress—from struggling on exams to achieving strong results. Teaching continues to be a meaningful part of my career, complementing my professional work as a chemist by allowing me to share knowledge and inspire curiosity in the sciences.

New tutor

Hi! I'm a first-year Accounting and Finance student at the University of Warwick, and I tutor GCSE and A-Level Computer Science and Maths. I achieved an A* in A-Level Computer Science and an A in Maths, so I've recently sat the exams your child is preparing for and know how the papers are marked. I work through past questions and worked examples built around the topics a student finds hardest, rather than moving through a syllabus at a fixed pace. I'm patient, I'm happy to explain something more than once, and I'd rather a student understands why a method works than memorises it. If you'd like to discuss what your child needs help with, feel free to get in touch. I studied at The Campion School Sixth Form from 2019 to 2026, where I completed A-Levels in Computer Science (A*), Mathematics (A) and Economics (B), alongside AS Further Mathematics. Before that I achieved 11 GCSEs, including a 9 in Physics and 8s in Mathematics and Computer Science. I am now in my first year of a BSc in Accounting and Finance at the University of Warwick. My specialisations are Computer Science and Mathematics at both GCSE and A-Level. I sat these exams recently, so I know the current specifications and how papers are marked. During Sixth Form I also worked with my school's Computer Science department on a software project, and I was Subject Prefect for Computer Science, which involved explaining course content to younger students and presenting the subject to parents at open days.
