"Hi Christine, Diarmuid here. I just got my results and I got the 2nd highest German grade you can get. You helped me so much and I can't thank you enough." Hello there! My name is Christine and I am a junior doctor. I have always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge in a manner that's simple and enjoyable. With over 5 years tutoring experience, I focus on an engaging, holistic, and student-centric approach to tutoring, whilst sharing my passion and love for learning! I firmly believe the key to mastering anything is understanding the basics and then weaving them together to gain the bigger picture. I have worked diligently to hone my skils over the years, even applying them in my own studies in the medical field, and have been able to get testimonials such as the one above and: "Hi Christina only to let you know Felipe had a 6 in biology which is very good compared with the 3 in January! Hope we can work together from September. So, thank you x" - Pilar "Just to let you know Yousef passed all his GCSEs. Thank you." - Naz "Hii, it’s Mike. I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping me this year and I wouldn’t have done it without your help and support." During the sessions, I work with my students through the agreed upon topic paying close attention to the core concepts, we go through some exam-style questions, and also learn how to frame the answers in the way examiners expect. I also share effecting studying and memory techniques to enable them to better learn and master their content. In my spare time, I enjoy singing (I'm currently taking a music theory class and hope to progress to one day play the cello) and dancing. These help me unwind and also have fun! I look forward to extending this interesting mixture of fun and learning to my students and help the strike that oh-so-elusive balance between work and play so that they can become the best versions of themselves. Would you like to have similar testimonials as these? "hellooooo! hope your doing well. it’s the results day today, just letting you know that i got a 7 in german!! i am very happy with the results, thank you so much for all of your help i definitely wouldn’t have got this if it wasn’t for you 😁" - Shangami "Hello Christine, I hope you have had a good summer. Alastair wanted you to know he passed GCSE combined. He got 55 Score for his GCSE. He is now going to do A levels and considering btec science to compliment a level PE. Thank you for your support, you really made a difference." - Jill I'm available to work together with you/your student and I'm excited to help them achieve their highest potential. See you soon! I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, specializing in Industrial Chemistry and Petrochemistry. I achieved A/A grades* in GCSE Mathematics and Physics and an A in A-Level Maths. My strong academic background allows me to explain complex topics clearly and confidently turning challenges into achievable goals for my students! ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.

What is Key Stage 3?
Key Stage 3 (KS3) covers the three years of school known as Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9, when students are between 11 and 14 years of age.
It follows the national curriculum and prepares children for more advanced learning at KS4/GCSE level.
What subjects are covered in Key Stage 3?
The compulsory subjects at Key Stage 3 are:
Additional subjects include Religious Education (RE) and Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE), which includes sex education. Parents can request that their children opt out of sex education lessons and either parts of RE or all the lessons.
The focus of Key Stage 3
KS3 forms a bridge between primary school and GCSE study. It deepens knowledge and understanding in the different subjects and focuses on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The curriculum is designed to be broad so that students can explore their interests and abilities in a wide range of subjects. This is essential when it comes to deciding which subjects to pursue at GCSE level – a crucial decision which influences future academic and career paths.
How is KS3 assessed?
Learning is assessed in two ways: how well students are learning and remembering the curriculum and whether they are understanding what they have learned.
There are no national or external assessments at Key Stage 3. Instead, teachers carry out ongoing assessments for each pupil in each of the year groups.
How to choose a KS3 tutor
Whether your child is struggling with making the transition from primary to secondary school or having difficulties with one or more subjects in any of the years, a KS3 tutor can help them close any gaps in their understanding while helping to build confidence and motivation.
Tutoring can also help students needing an extra boost before entering the Key Stage 4 GCSE years.
It’s essential the tutor is a subject specialist and experienced in adaptive learning, which prioritises personalised learning tailored to the individual’s needs and understanding. This approach allows students to work at their own pace and truly master any problem areas before moving on.
GoStudent has a range of qualified and experienced tutors in all subjects covered in the KS3 curriculum. They can suggest effective study techniques and deepen understanding while helping create a study plan that will keep learning on track.
With the help of a tutor, your child can reach their full potential and develop love of learning that will carry them through the rest of their school years and beyond.
How much does private KS3 tuition cost?
Prices for private KS3 tuition can be as low as £21.99. The cost of each individual lesson will depend on how many lessons your child takes per week and how long they would like tuition for. Book a free trial session to see how affordable private KS3 tutoring can be with GoStudent.
