I have been a tutor for 2 years, specialising in Maths and English, but I am comfortable teaching a range of subjects. I am in my second year of university studying Law, which has given me many skills such as attention to detail and a strong work ethic. I transfer these qualities to tutoring, and my priority is helping students excel in their studies by providing effective and engaging lessons that tailor to each child's needs. I completed my GCSEs in The Abbey School and my A levels in Kendrick School, achieving results of a high standard that I was proud of. I am now studying Law in university, which has been a passion of mine for many years. Hello, I am from London, but I am currently a second year Dental student at University. I have been tutoring various subjects for over 5 years now, which I have grown to become super passionate about! My favourite hobbies include ballet, piano and violin. I hope on gostudent I can support you with specific subject knowledge and introduce you to useful and EFFECTIVE ways to learn or revise. More importantly I want to help build up your confidence; often you know a-lot more than you think you do. But, if not, I can support you to getting to a place of assurance in your desired subject- we will work together to get you to a level you want to be. As a tutor I want to scrub up and polish the foundations you already have- which I am confident will bring you to your target grade! I have completed both GCSE's and A-levels, where I obtained a scholarship to attend a local independent school. I am currently studying at Dentistry at University, hoping to become a dentist. I have been tutoring both within my school, online and in a local Kumon tuition centre since year 10, with experience tutoring in a group and 1:1. ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.
