Alongside my own education, I have gained over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience, working with students across a wide range of ages, abilities and academic levels. I have taught Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, supporting students from KS2 and KS3 through to GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level. I have also worked with students preparing for the 11+ and have experience adapting lessons for students who require additional support or a different approach to learning. I have taught students following several major UK examination boards, including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. This has given me a good understanding of the differences between specifications, assessment styles and mark schemes. I place particular emphasis on exam technique, applying knowledge to unfamiliar questions and helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for. My tutoring approach is centred around making challenging concepts easier to understand. I break topics down into manageable steps, regularly check understanding and use practice questions to identify and address gaps in knowledge. I adapt my teaching to the individual student rather than using the same approach for everyone, whether they are aiming to secure the fundamentals, improve their confidence or work towards the highest grades. In addition to tutoring, I have experience working with young people as a Summer Sports Camp Coach at King’s College Taunton. This strengthened my communication, leadership and motivational skills and taught me how to keep young people engaged while maintaining a positive and supportive environment. I’m currently in my first year of Biomedical Science. I have a strong passion for the sciences, with an interest of sharing scientific knowledge with my peers and students. I have done my A levels Maths, Biology and Chemistry in the UK but I have a multicultural background as I moved from Italy. I used to spent my Saturday mornings teaching primary schoolers in Italy with additional learning needs. This choice was rooted by the fact that my own brothers have additional learning needs so that experience, combined with being multilingual (I can fluently speak in Hindi, Punjabi, and Italian), has shaped how I approach learning with patience making sure nobody is left behind. I want to become a tutor because it gives me satisfaction when I see students achieving their goals and see their self-confidence soar! I don't just want to teach subjects but I want to be a supportive part of their journey, helping them realize that no academic challenge is too big to overcome. I achieved my GCSEs (Maths, Physics, Combined Science, Philosophy, Latin, Italian Language and Literature, English, History, Social Sciences and PE) in Italy. After that I moved to the UK where I completed my GCSE in English language and Maths and an ESOL course at Tresham College in Corby. I continued my studies following my passion for the scientific subjects. I studied A level Maths, Chemistry and Biology, at the Corby Sixth Form, achieving a grade B in all three of my subjects. Currently I'm in my first year of Biomedical Science at the University of East Anglia. Additionally I also have completed an online course on careers available in the NHS and volunteered at my local hospital so I can provide mentorship for students interested in studying STEM degree and gain access in an health related career.
