I am an experienced mathematics tutor with a strong background in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol. Over the past five years, I have successfully delivered tailored, one-to-one tutoring sessions for students of all abilities, including those with dyslexia and ADHD. I am basically a B.Sc.-qualified technical person who became a language teacher while working as a computer programmer/systems analyst in Switzerland. I teach regularly online & face-to-face and the languages taught are English, French, German & elementary Arabic. I have been tutoring online for over 5 years, working for such organisations as Berlitz & the British Council. I live near Durham, UK, and have a very wide range of student types, ranging from young learners under 10 to mature business people learning a language for their retirement. After O/A-levels and completing an Ordinary National Diploma in Engineering, I chose to do a Computer Science degree at N. Staffordshire Polytechnic because it was possible to study French intensively alongside. This meant that the 3rd (industrial) year had to be spent in a French-speaking country and in my case that was Switzerland, where I spent a year at CERN in Geneva. To become an English language teacher I obtained the CTEFLA in Geneva in 1995 and went on to study for the DELTA.

I achieved a grade 9 in biology, chemistry and maths at GCSE, and I am looking forward to helping you do your best! At NULS, I achieved grade 8 in English language and PE, and a 7 in Spanish, with distinction in speaking. I achieved a grade 9 in all other GCSEs, including triple science and an extra GCSE in further maths. At A-level, I received a C in biology, chemistry, and maths and an A at AS level Photography. I am currently studying towards a BSc in Biomedical Science at Nottingham Trent University.
