I am a BSc Biochemistry graduate from the University of Birmingham and an incoming first-year medical student at the University of Dundee. I offer tutoring specifically in GCSE Biology and GCSE Chemistry, using my strong academic background in both subjects to help students understand difficult concepts and improve their confidence. I aim to make complex scientific topics clear and manageable, while also focusing on exam technique, past-paper questions, and effective revision strategies. My lessons are patient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs, whether they are looking to strengthen their understanding, improve their grades, or prepare confidently for their exams. I have graduated from the University of Birmingham with a 2:1 BSc in Biochemistry and am now beginning my first year of Medicine at the University of Dundee. During my degree, I studied areas including molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, metabolism and organic chemistry. I also developed practical laboratory skills, scientific writing and experience analysing and presenting experimental data. My interest in tutoring began at secondary school, where I worked as a Science Tutor supporting GCSE students in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I focused on identifying why students might not be achieving the grades they were aiming for, whether this was due to difficulty understanding certain concepts, gaps in their knowledge or challenges with exam technique. I could then tailor my support to address the specific issue. This experience taught me the importance of recognising different learning styles. For visual learners, I used diagrams and visual representations to make scientific processes easier to understand. For students who benefited more from verbal learning, I used simple language and broke complex concepts down step by step. I also created clear and digestible revision resources to make large topics feel more manageable and help students revise independently. At university, I volunteered in drop-in sessions supporting first-year Biochemistry students, particularly with writing laboratory reports and using RStudio for data presentation and analysis. Having already completed first year myself, I was able to draw on my own experiences and mistakes to help students avoid similar difficulties and develop more effective approaches to their work. Alongside my final year of Biochemistry, I completed the demanding medical school application process. This involved preparing my application and personal statement, studying for the UCAT and preparing extensively for Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs). My interview preparation also required me to develop my understanding of current medical and NHS topics and practise communicating my ideas clearly under pressure. Balancing this preparation with my final-year degree commitments significantly strengthened my time-management, organisation and independent learning skills and ultimately led to me securing a place to study Medicine at the University of Dundee. I also volunteered as a Reading Partner at secondary school, supporting students with dyslexia with their reading and writing. This experience developed my patience and empathy and reinforced that every student progresses differently and may require a different approach. Together, my academic background, science mentoring and experience progressing into medical school have prepared me to provide personalised GCSE Biology and Chemistry tutoring, helping students strengthen their scientific knowledge, improve their exam technique and become more confident in their abilities.

As a University of Southampton Graduate in Biology and Marine Biology, my passion for the life sciences shape both my professional and personal life. I love hiking in the countryside and SCUBA diving. Engaging with diverse ecosystems firsthand allows me to bring authentic context, enthusiasm, and practical examples to my tutoring sessions. Currently training as a teacher via the SCITT pathway, bringing up-to-date classroom experience to my tutoring. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Biology & Marine Biology from the University of Southampton, alongside A-Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, giving me a strong foundation across the sciences.

Hello! My name is Blessy and I am currently a 4th year medical student with over six years of tutoring experience, including three years on the GoStudent platform. Outside of academics, I enjoy going to the gym, watching films and reading in my spare time. Alongside tutoring, I also lead teaching sessions for other medical students at my university, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and adapt to different learning styles. I take a patient and supportive approach and am particularly experienced in working with students who may feel shy, lack confidence or struggle with focus, helping them feel more comfortable and engaged in their learning! I achieved seven 9s, two 8s, one 7, two Distinction* grades, and one Distinction grade at GCSE (all sat in person), as well as A-level grades in Chemistry, Biology, and Maths. I am currently a medical student studying abroad. My academic background and experience mean I am very familiar with the demands of these subjects. Upcoming Doctor who really enjoys learning and exploring new ideas. I love reading books, especially anything about medicine or how people and society work. When I’m not studying, you’ll usually find me running, going to the gym, knitting, or cooking something new.
