These subjects trip people up for the same reason: you need to visualise problems, follow logical steps and remember key facts, all at once whilst trying not to fall intro traps set by the exam boards. I've done informal tutoring with friends and family, and the biggest lesson I've learned is students don't need someone smarter than them but instead they need someone patient, who explains things properly, ensure that they understand, and never makes them feel silly for asking twice. Expect sessions built around real exam technique, spotting how questions are phrased, and turning "I sort of get it" into "I've got this." I'll adapt to how you learn best diagrams, worked examples, or talking it through. Whatever works best for you. I'm a Mathematics and Data Science graduate of the London School of Economics, and I now run a startup that uses machine learning in drug discovery, so I put the maths I teach to work every day. I studied Maths, Physics, Computer Science and Chemistry at A-level, earning an A* in Maths, and I'm a two-time gold medallist in the National Physics Olympiad. I tutor Maths, Physics and Computer Science from GCSE through A-level, and I also prepare students for university admissions tests and Oxbridge applications. Having recently sat these exams myself, I know exactly where students get stuck. My approach is patient and diagnostic: I find the gap, rebuild from there, and focus on real understanding and problem-solving rather than memorising. Most of all, I love helping students go from dreading a subject to feeling confident and capable in it. I attended St Paul's School, where I took A-levels in Mathematics (A*), Physics (A), Computer Science (A) and Chemistry (A), along with an A* EPQ in electrical and systems engineering. At GCSE I earned seven grade 9s, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science, and four grade 8s. I then studied for a BSc in Mathematics and Data Science at the London School of Economics (LSE), with coursework spanning machine learning, optimisation, real and complex analysis, probability and statistics, graph theory and algorithms. Alongside my degree I completed Harvard's CS50 and an MIT course in mathematics for finance. My specialisations are Maths, Physics and Computer Science at GCSE and A-level, and preparing students for university admissions tests (STEP, TMUA and ESAT) and Oxbridge applications. I'm also a two-time gold medallist in the National Physics Olympiad, which is exactly the kind of problem-solving these entrance exams reward.

Hi, I'm Komal! I tutor Italian, Maths (GCSE, both Foundation and Higher), Primary English, A-Level Law, and A-level Psychology. Through my Psychology degree, I studied motivation theories in depth, and I draw on this when helping students build revision strategies that genuinely work for them, whether that's a sense of progress, clear goals, or feeling in control of their own learning. I also served as my university's Students' Union President, which sharpened my communication and organisational skills. My goal is to make lessons practical, encouraging, and tailored to how you learn best. A little more about me: I'm a native Italian speaker and also fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, and English, so I love working with students from a range of language backgrounds. Due to my own background, I understand firsthand what it's like to adapt to a new curriculum and language of instruction, and I use that experience to help my students feel confident rather than overwhelmed. I completed my primary and middle school education in Italy before moving to the UK in Year 10, which gave me a strong foundation in Italian language and culture alongside adapting quickly to the English education system. Despite the transition, I achieved an 8 in GCSE Maths, and I'm comfortable teaching both Foundation and Higher level content as a result. I went on to study A-level Maths in college, before graduating with a First Class degree in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University. This academic background means I can confidently support students in Maths, Psychology, and beyond, while also drawing on my multilingual background to help with Italian and English language learning.
