Hi! I am Teacher Erika Marie, a passionate and flexible English tutor here at Edge! I believe that learning English should be exiting, empowering, and tailored just for you. My sessions are interactive and goal-oriented - whether you are aiming to ace your GCSEs, Arbitur, and Oral and Written Exams, preparing to ace your desired Cambridge English Proficiency for reading, listening, speaking, and writing, boost your confidence in public speaking, or strengthen your everyday communication skills for future travel plans. With my rich background in public speaking and love for journaling, I bring both structure and self-expression into the classroom, helping you build clarity, confidence, and your own unique voice in English. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Education and a TEFL certification which have equipped me with a strong foundation in teaching methods, linguistics, and literature. I am also advancing my teaching repertoire through my current Master's Degree Education. My academic training allows me to craft lessons that are not only comprehensive but also engaging and adaptable to different learning needs. I combine this formal background with my real-world teaching experience to help students reach their goals—whether that’s exam mastery, stronger writing, or everyday language fluency—through lessons that are personalized, purposeful, and enjoyable.

I have been a tutor for 2 years, specialising in Maths and English, but I am comfortable teaching a range of subjects. I am in my second year of university studying Law, which has given me many skills such as attention to detail and a strong work ethic. I transfer these qualities to tutoring, and my priority is helping students excel in their studies by providing effective and engaging lessons that tailor to each child's needs. I completed my GCSEs in The Abbey School and my A levels in Kendrick School, achieving results of a high standard that I was proud of. I am now studying Law in university, which has been a passion of mine for many years. My education journey has provided me with joyful and beneficial experiences, as well as challenges that have developed my resilience and shaped me as a person.

I’m Aysha, a dental student and tutor who enjoys turning tricky topics into clear, simple steps. I’m keen on helping students build confidence and discover their strengths. Outside tutoring, I’m into music, staying active, and spending time with friends. I attended William Hulmes Grammar School until year 10 and Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School for my GCSE’s and A-Levels. For A-Levels, I studied; Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry. I am currently studying Dental Medicine abroad in Sofia, Bulgaria and am in my third year here.

I am currently a student studying Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Nottingham. I passed A-Level Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science with an A,B,B respectively. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing basketball and practicing my violin and piano. I've also participated many workshops to do with communication which has increased my public speaking and collaboration skills. For secondary school I attended King Edwards VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys. I left with 11 GCSE's with an 8 in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Religious Studies and a 7 in English Literature and Language, French and Business. For Sixth Form I attended the University of Birmingham School for 2 years. I left with an A,B,B in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science respectively.
