Hi, I’m Maite! I’m a native German speaker and teach German at all levels — Primary, GCSE, and A-Level. Besides German and English, I also speak French and Spanish. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies with a minor in Educational Science, which deepened my understanding of cross-cultural learning, communication, and how to make complex ideas accessible. During my time at university, I spent over three years tutoring children of different ages, working in a programme led by the German federal government to support children from migrant and refugee backgrounds in their school learning. I am now excited to work with adults as well. When I think back to my own school years, the teachers who inspired me most were those whose honest passion made even my least favourite subjects enjoyable. That’s the atmosphere I aim to create in my lessons: engaging, light, and enjoyable. Outside tutoring, I teach meditation and mindfulness and support a charity creatively, which helps me bring patience, flexibility, and creativity into my teaching. I tailor lessons to each student — whether you need grammar support, speaking practice, exam preparation, or a personalised lesson to build confidence at your own pace, or simply want to learn German out of interest and enjoyment. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies and Educational Science, which I completed at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. I specialised in cultural theory and visual culture and spent an Erasmus semester at Université Bordeaux Montaigne in France. In addition, I hold a Yoga Alliance–approved 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate, complemented by an additional 50 hours of training in meditation.

Hello, I am a stop motion animator and aspiring filmmaker based in Scotland. Stop motion has allowed me to focus on my passion for storytelling and combines my love of literature, theatre and art. I absolutely adore stories: reading them, watching them, and capturing them myself. I am dyslexic and it has taken me time to develop all of the studying tips and tricks that I now have the privilege to share with others. I’m also a keen gardener, baker and painter. I have a first class joint honours Master of Arts in English literature and Film & Visual Culture from the University of Aberdeen. I was given the Seafield medal for English and the Film 23’ prize for my dissertation. I also studied Geology, Geography and Ecology as elective subjects at university. I also recently completed the Aardman Academy animation courses SM1 and SM2. I did GCSE’s and IGCSE’s followed by the International Baccalaureate at St Leonard’s High School and attended the Royal Conservatoire Juniors Production program alongside. My main subjects at IB level were English, Environmental Systems and Societies, Maths, Italian, art and theatre.

Currently studying (MEng) Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at the University of Sheffield, I am a dedicated Maths and Physics tutor, with around an 2-3 years total experience in person and online, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades. My approach combines the structured discipline of established learning centres, such as Kumon (where I was a tutor for more than 2 years) and the flexible touch of indepedent 1 on 1 tutoring. I achieved a Grade 9 in Maths and all Sciences in my GCSEs and got an A in Physics at A level. I have also had experience tutoring 11+ briefly, and have passed the 11+ myself in 2017. As a student who completed his GCSE exams 3 years ago, I can provide tailored advice and the most up-to-date tips and tricks to help students flourish and achieve top marks. I went to a selective state-grammar school based on 11+ scores called Lawrence Sheriff School for all of my secondary school years and 6th form. I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels here achieving almost all A*/A scores in every subject. Currently, I am at University studying (MEng) Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at the University of Sheffield.

I am a First-Class Computer Systems Engineering graduate. Mathematics and Computing have been central to both my academic journey and professional experience. With 11 years of teaching and tutoring experience across GCSE and A-Level, I have developed a strong understanding of the UK curriculum and the common challenges students face. I enjoy helping students move from confusion to clarity by breaking complex topics into structured, logical steps. Beyond improving grades, my goal is to help students build confidence and develop deep, sustained understanding. I believe Mathematics and Computing should feel logical and empowering — not intimidating. I completed my BSc in Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Westminster, graduating with First-Class Honours. Prior to university, I completed my A-Level certification at Ahmadu Bello University, studying Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics, and earlier obtained my secondary school leaving certificate at Livingstone College . Alongside my academic background, I have over 11 years of experience teaching and tutoring GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, as well as several years teaching Computing. I have worked in UK secondary schools as a Teaching Assistant supporting STEM subjects and SEN students, and as an online tutor delivering structured, results-driven lessons. My specialisation lies in Mathematics and Computer Science, particularly breaking complex, abstract ideas into logical, manageable steps that build deep and lasting understanding.
