I have just graduated from BSc (hons) Biomedical science with Anatomy with a first class. I know studying can be hard and sometimes knowing the content isn't enough. I have been tutored myself in the past, and so I know first hand what methods work and how student specific tailoring is key! I like to ask the students what they feel will be beneficial so that we can get the most out of the lessons. Through working on our weaknesses and building on our strengths, I hope we can strive to succeed. I have just graduated with a first class in BSc (Hons) Biomedical science with Anatomy. I am a friendly, patient and enthusiastic tutor with over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience, supporting students across a wide range of ages and abilities. I specialise in Maths and the Sciences, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and have experience teaching across different exam boards. I focus on breaking difficult concepts down into simple, manageable steps and adapting my teaching style to suit each individual student. My lessons are interactive and supportive, with a strong focus on building confidence, improving exam technique and helping students understand the reasoning behind their answers. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their skills. I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences at Brunel University London, where my degree has allowed me to develop a strong understanding of biology, chemistry and the wider biomedical sciences. Before university, I studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-Level at King’s College Taunton, giving me a strong academic foundation across both mathematics and the sciences. Alongside my own education, I have gained over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience, working with students across a wide range of ages, abilities and academic levels. I have taught Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics, supporting students from KS2 and KS3 through to GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level. I have also worked with students preparing for the 11+ and have experience adapting lessons for students who require additional support or a different approach to learning. I have taught students following several major UK examination boards, including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. This has given me a good understanding of the differences between specifications, assessment styles and mark schemes. I place particular emphasis on exam technique, applying knowledge to unfamiliar questions and helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for. My tutoring approach is centred around making challenging concepts easier to understand. I break topics down into manageable steps, regularly check understanding and use practice questions to identify and address gaps in knowledge. I adapt my teaching to the individual student rather than using the same approach for everyone, whether they are aiming to secure the fundamentals, improve their confidence or work towards the highest grades. In addition to tutoring, I have experience working with young people as a Summer Sports Camp Coach at King’s College Taunton. This strengthened my communication, leadership and motivational skills and taught me how to keep young people engaged while maintaining a positive and supportive environment. Together, my academic background and extensive tutoring experience have given me the skills to support students effectively and help them make meaningful academic progress.

I have been tutoring with GoStudent for over a year now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a former Sunday-School teacher and volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. Prior to my degree, I took three A-Levels in History, Maths and English, receiving all A*s, and prior to that, ten GCSEs, receiving all 9s. I am currently studying for a part-time master's degree in architectural history at Cambridge.

I am basically a B.Sc.-qualified technical person who became a language teacher while working as a computer programmer/systems analyst in Switzerland. I teach regularly online & face-to-face and the languages taught are English, French, German & elementary Arabic. I have been tutoring online for over 5 years, working for such organisations as Berlitz & the British Council. I live near Durham, UK, and have a very wide range of student types, ranging from young learners under 10 to mature business people learning a language for their retirement. After many years in French-speaking Europe, north Africa, the Arabian Gulf, Chile & central Asia, I now live near Durham, UK, and have had a very wide range of student types, ranging from young learners under 10 to mature business people learning a language for their retirement. Although language teaching is my main activity, I can also teach PC windows-technique, Microsoft utilities, and a few GCSE subjects. My EFL (English as a Foreign Language) specialities are IELTS preparation for both Academic & General Training candidates. After O/A-levels and completing an Ordinary National Diploma in Engineering, I chose to do a Computer Science degree at N. Staffordshire Polytechnic because it was possible to study French intensively alongside. This meant that the 3rd (industrial) year had to be spent in a French-speaking country and in my case that was Switzerland, where I spent a year at CERN in Geneva. To become an English language teacher I obtained the CTEFLA in Geneva in 1995 and went on to study for the DELTA.
