Hello! My name is Tanya, and I'm a Psychology student with a passion for learning and helping others reach their full potential. Having benefited from excellent tutors myself, I've seen firsthand the positive impact that dedicated support can have. Today, I possess the qualities of an effective, reliable tutor, including strong communication skills and a willingness to listen. I aim to support and challenge my students equally, adapting my explanations to ensure understanding and confidence in their chosen subject. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lesson structure to best suit their needs, helping to strengthen their understanding and self-confidence. Whether I'm helping with subject knowledge, exam preparation, assignment planning, or study skills, I aim to make learning enjoyable and rewarding. My goal is to not only help my students achieve their academic goals, but also to develop independent learning skills that will benefit them long-term. I am currently studying a BSc Psychology degree at Bangor University, working at a First Class Honours. I had received AAA for my A levels, which consisted of Biology, Psychology and Sociology. My degree has given me a strong understanding of key theories as well as research methods, including both qualitative and quantitative research methods. I have experience in designing and conducting empirical research. Throughout my studies, I have engaged in a multitude of modules, such as developmental psychology, biopsychology, personality theory and neuropsychology. I have completed coursework that relied heavily on critical analysis of academic literature. Additionally, I studied at Sandhurst Sixth form where I took Biology, Sociology and Psychology as A levels, learning and building the necessary foundations for my university years. I conducted lab tests in biology and qualitative research for both psychology and sociology. I solidified by critical thinking and my ability to efficiently understand topics.

Hi! I’m Beth, it’s lovely to meet you! I can help you out with maths and science subjects and my aim is to give you the confidence and understanding to do the best that you can in your exams. I will work through difficult areas with you until you are confident and it is no longer anything to worry about. I completed my A-levels in Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths a few years ago and achieved 4 A* grades. Before that, I achieved 11 grade 9s at GCSE, including Further Maths and Triple Science. I’m now doing a degree apprenticeship in Digital Technology Solutions BSc while working as an IT consultant. Some of my hobbies/interests include sailing, dog agility and pilates.

Hi! I'm Michaelangelos, a mathematics graduate from the University of St Andrews (MMath) and incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow. I've been tutoring maths for several years, including Higher and National 5, and it's something I genuinely love doing. What I care most about is helping students build real confidence and intuition, not just memorise steps. Maths can feel intimidating, and I get a lot of satisfaction from being the person who helps make it click, whether that's turning anxiety into understanding, or helping a curious student go further than they thought possible. I'm equally excited to work with students who find maths difficult and scary as I am to work with those who want to push themselves and become really strong mathematically. Whatever your starting point, I'll meet you there. I am currently an incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow, where my research focuses on dissecting neural networks, specifically regarding optimisation and generalisation. Prior to this, I completed an Integrated Master of Mathematics (MMath) at the University of St Andrews. During my time at St Andrews, I was placed on the Dean's List consecutively and achieved first-class averages in my final two years of study. I also spent an exchange year at Western University during the 2024-2025 academic year. My academic background is deeply rooted in advanced mathematics and computational science. My master’s dissertation, which earned a 90% grade and was highly commended for the Duncan Prize, focused on a posteriori methods for error control via the reconstruction technique. My key areas of study have included stochastic dynamics, statistical machine learning, financial mathematics, neural networks, and data analytics consulting. Through these experiences, I have developed strong technical proficiencies in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, and R, along with various machine learning frameworks.

Hi! I’m Akhshaya, and my passion for teaching has grown since secondary school. I’ve taught at two tutoring centres, where I gained experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities, learning styles, and learning difficulties. I’m passionate about making tricky concepts feel simple and helping students build confidence step by step. Finally, my comfort shows are Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra; I like to play netball, skateboard, and sing! I am a second‑year Biomedical Engineering student at King’s College London, where I study modules such as Medical Physics, Clinical Engineering, and Professional Issues in Biomedical Engineering. My academic background combines strong analytical skills with a passion for STEM education. I completed my A‑Levels in Maths, Physics, and Biology at Beal High School and I have experience applying these subjects through both university coursework and tutoring. Additionally, I have completed my diploma in Carnatic Music.
