Hi, I’m Lydia! I completed my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Economics and I’m currently a solicitor apprentice at a top law firm. I tutor GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Economics, and I enjoy helping students break down difficult topics into clear, manageable steps. Having recently completed these subjects myself, I understand the challenges students face and how to approach exams effectively. My teaching style is patient, structured and adaptable to each student’s learning style. I focus not only on improving understanding, but also building confidence through clear explanations, active recall and exam practice. I’m passionate about helping students achieve their potential and making learning feel less overwhelming and more rewarding. I completed my secondary education at Sacred Heart High School before studying Biology, Chemistry and Economics at Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School for sixth form. I achieved strong GCSE and A-level results, including multiple A*/A grades. I am currently completing a solicitor apprenticeship at a leading international law firm alongside studying Law with BPP University. My academic background has strengthened my analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, which I apply in my tutoring approach. I am a medical student at UCL with a strong academic background, having achieved A* grades at A-level in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry. I have a genuine passion for teaching and enjoy helping students understand challenging concepts in a clear and structured way. Having recently completed GCSEs and A-levels myself, I understand current exam specifications, common pitfalls, and effective revision strategies. My teaching style is supportive and tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on building strong foundations, confidence, and exam technique. I aim not only to help students improve their grades, but also to develop their independence, motivation, and long-term love for learning. I am currently studying Medicine at University College London (UCL), a highly academic and research-led medical school. I attended Lancaster Girls’ Grammar School, where I developed a strong academic foundation and a disciplined approach to learning. Throughout my education, I consistently achieved high academic standards, particularly in Maths and the sciences. At A-level, I achieved 3A*, reflecting both my subject knowledge and my ability to manage a demanding workload. I also achieved full marks in my EPQ, which strengthened my independent research, critical thinking, and academic writing skills. This project required analysing complex information, evaluating evidence, and presenting clear, well-structured arguments—skills that are directly transferable to both medicine and teaching. As a current medical student, I continue to build on this strong educational background through rigorous study and application of scientific knowledge. My academic journey has equipped me with excellent organisation, resilience, and communication skills, which I bring into my tutoring by delivering clear explanations, structured lessons, and tailored support to help students achieve their full potential.

My name is Ash and I love tutoring students and showing them ways through which they can not only become a confident learner, but also a confident person overall. I believe that learning should not always be serious and so I tend to make learning interesting for my students at all times. My previous students have said that they never notice the time go whilst learning with me. I enjoy baking, singing, swimming and travelling. I spent ten years living in Athens, Greece where I worked as a private tutor: teaching TEFL to a wide variety of people - from complete beginners to students wishing to take Cambridge Proficiency exams in order to access UK universities. I have a BA Hons degree in Modern Languages: English/French with a module in Classical Greek Language and Literature. I believe in stress-free lessons , and learning in a relaxed setting. As a tutor I am not there to add pressure, but to help take pressure off. In terms of hobbies, I love reading, writing stories, and watching Turkish TV dramas. I am also a huge tennis fan. Last, but not least, I enjoy all forms of sugar - especially cake! Aside from my degree, I am qualified to teach TEFL. I really enjoy working with those who don't have English as a first language. It's a thrill to help them improve their speaking and listening - as well as reading and writing skills. It's wonderful to see them grow in confidence when expressing themselves in English. Furthermore, I am qualified to do proofreading. This fits in well with teaching English. I also have a certificate in Counselling Skills.
