About me

Hello everyone! My name is Scarlett and I love tutoring because I have been able to help lots of students feel confident and independent over their own learning and future. I teach biology and chemistry at both KS3 and KS4 level with no preference as to which. I love to go on long runs and go out with friends when I’m not studying to become a vet. I graduated from a highly selective grammar school achieving 10 grades 8-9 (A*) for GCSE and at IB, the equivalent to 4A* at A-level. I have been a tutor for over 2 years now helping students (most of which classify as SEN) through learning difficulties and anxiety to get into dream schools, achieving their highest potential.

My name is Aisha I studied Biology, Chemistry, and Sociology at A-level and am currently an Optometry student, which keeps me deeply engaged with scientific concepts on a daily basis. This strong academic foundation allows me to teach both subjects with clarity, confidence, and real-world relevance. I am a dedicated and compassionate tutor that has a heavy background in teaching students Biology, Chemistry, Science and Maths. I focus on helping students build a strong understanding of the topics they may be struggling followed by sufficient and plentiful exam application practise to help build confidence for exams. All students learn differently, so I tailor my methods to suit each student’s unique needs, ensuring they leave with a solid understanding of the subject they initially struggled with. Whether a student needs help building foundational skills, catching up, or reaching higher levels of achievement, I create a supportive environment where they feel encouraged, understood, and motivated. My style is interactive and flexible—I use strategies to make challenging concepts easier to grasp and lessons more engaging. From breaking down harder problems to celebrating small wins, I focus on building confidence and independence in every learner. I am an effective tutor. I’ve worked with SEN students including students with; dyscalculia, ADHD, dyslexia and autism. Whether you are looking to increase your grade by a little, or a lot I am here to get you to that full potential. I specialise in teaching GCSE maths and have led many students to get top grades. I work based on the students’ needs and I am very much able to adapt to their preferred learning style. I use exam questions from your exam board and continue to practice topics with you until you are fluent As I am a visual learner myself, I work with students particularly through diagrams, visual aids and in depth examples, drawn on interactive whiteboards as well as analogies to explain concepts required for their curriculum and more importantly, the final exam. Practice exam and past paper questions are key to unlocking the higher grades, and so I always integrate questions throughout the teaching of content during lesson to ensure the student understands and digests what they have learnt properly through application, you will never be short of exam practice in one of my lessons, as that is how the real exam will be like. There is always an open door policy to ask whatever questions you need to, whether that is in or out of lesson time, no question is too big or small. I look forward to guiding you into achieve the academic potential you and I know you are capable of. I achieved 5 grades 9’s and 5 grade 8’s at GCSE, this includes: - A 9 in Maths and Chemistry - An 8 in Biology and Physics. My A-levels are as follows: - B in Biology - B in Chemistry. - B In Maths I am currently a first year Biomedical Science Student, and am teaching: - GCSE MATHS
