I have been tutoring with GoStudent for almost a year now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a current Sunday-School teacher and former volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. Prior to my degree, I took three A-Levels in History, Maths and English, receiving all A*s, and prior to that, ten GCSEs, receiving all 9s.

Hi! I'm Michaelangelos, a mathematics graduate from the University of St Andrews (MMath) and incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow. I've been tutoring maths for several years, including Higher and National 5, and it's something I genuinely love doing. What I care most about is helping students build real confidence and intuition, not just memorise steps. Maths can feel intimidating, and I get a lot of satisfaction from being the person who helps make it click, whether that's turning anxiety into understanding, or helping a curious student go further than they thought possible. I'm equally excited to work with students who find maths difficult and scary as I am to work with those who want to push themselves and become really strong mathematically. Whatever your starting point, I'll meet you there. I am currently an incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow, where my research focuses on dissecting neural networks, specifically regarding optimisation and generalisation. Prior to this, I completed an Integrated Master of Mathematics (MMath) at the University of St Andrews. During my time at St Andrews, I was placed on the Dean's List consecutively and achieved first-class averages in my final two years of study. I also spent an exchange year at Western University during the 2024-2025 academic year. My academic background is deeply rooted in advanced mathematics and computational science. My master’s dissertation, which earned a 90% grade and was highly commended for the Duncan Prize, focused on a posteriori methods for error control via the reconstruction technique. My key areas of study have included stochastic dynamics, statistical machine learning, financial mathematics, neural networks, and data analytics consulting. Through these experiences, I have developed strong technical proficiencies in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, and R, along with various machine learning frameworks.

I am a Qualified Teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching Mathematics to students of all levels. Experience with: Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, GCSE Maths Exam Prep, Special Need,11+ ,13+ Exam Board Experience: I can work with any exam board. Edexcel, AQA, OCR (most material is common to all exam boards). I am currently working as a Mathematics teacher at a school in the U.K. In my previous roles, I taught mathematics and coding. I have also tutored students at various levels, from primary school to college. I am very well aware of the Mathematics curriculum and always look for new and engaging ways to teach it. I am passionate about helping students learn and committed to providing them with the best possible education. Hi, I’m Sean Brown, a passionate and dedicated science teacher who enjoys making learning meaningful, engaging, and accessible to every student. I believe science is more than memorizing facts—it’s about understanding how the world works and developing curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. As a tech-savvy educator, I enjoy integrating digital tools, multimedia resources, visual aids, and interactive activities into my lessons to make challenging concepts easier to understand. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel confident asking questions, exploring ideas, and learning at their own pace. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, major in Physical Sciences, which provided me with a strong foundation in Physics, Chemistry, and other areas of science, along with effective teaching strategies and classroom practices. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Education, majoring in General Science, further developing my knowledge and skills in science education.
