Hi! I'm Michaelangelos, a mathematics graduate from the University of St Andrews (MMath) and incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow. I've been tutoring maths for several years, including Higher and National 5, and it's something I genuinely love doing. What I care most about is helping students build real confidence and intuition, not just memorise steps. Maths can feel intimidating, and I get a lot of satisfaction from being the person who helps make it click, whether that's turning anxiety into understanding, or helping a curious student go further than they thought possible. I'm equally excited to work with students who find maths difficult and scary as I am to work with those who want to push themselves and become really strong mathematically. Whatever your starting point, I'll meet you there. I am currently an incoming PhD student at the University of Glasgow, where my research focuses on dissecting neural networks, specifically regarding optimisation and generalisation. Prior to this, I completed an Integrated Master of Mathematics (MMath) at the University of St Andrews. During my time at St Andrews, I was placed on the Dean's List consecutively and achieved first-class averages in my final two years of study. I also spent an exchange year at Western University during the 2024-2025 academic year. My academic background is deeply rooted in advanced mathematics and computational science. My master’s dissertation, which earned a 90% grade and was highly commended for the Duncan Prize, focused on a posteriori methods for error control via the reconstruction technique. My key areas of study have included stochastic dynamics, statistical machine learning, financial mathematics, neural networks, and data analytics consulting. Through these experiences, I have developed strong technical proficiencies in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, and R, along with various machine learning frameworks.

Hi I'm Ria! I recently finished my A-Levels and am now studying at the University of Manchester. I know how daunting and stressful exams are, but I'm here to help! I received A*AA in A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Maths, respectively, so I know what examiners are looking for. I study Optometry at the University of Manchester, having achieved A*AA in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I have tutored peers throughout secondary school and sixth form, helping them build confidence and prepare effectively for exams. My name is Alinah Mampiti Thakhuli, and I am a passionate, hardworking, and dedicated university student currently completing my final year of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry at North-West University. Hi! I'm a first-year Accounting and Finance student at the University of Warwick, and I tutor GCSE and A-Level Computer Science and Maths. I achieved an A* in A-Level Computer Science and an A in Maths, so I've recently sat the exams your child is preparing for and know how the papers are marked. I work through past questions and worked examples built around the topics a student finds hardest, rather than moving through a syllabus at a fixed pace. I'm patient, I'm happy to explain something more than once, and I'd rather a student understands why a method works than memorises it. Before that I achieved 11 GCSEs, including a 9 in Physics and 8s in Mathematics and Computer Science. I am now in my first year of a BSc in Accounting and Finance at the University of Warwick. My specialisations are Computer Science and Mathematics at both GCSE and A-Level. I sat these exams recently, so I know the current specifications and how papers are marked. During Sixth Form I also worked with my school's Computer Science department on a software project, and I was Subject Prefect for Computer Science, which involved explaining course content to younger students and presenting the subject to parents at open days.
