Hi, I’m Maki Mary, an enthusiastic and patient math teacher who enjoys helping students understand math in a simple and practical way. I believe math becomes easier when students understand the concept instead of simply memorizing formulas. My goal is to make learning math engaging, supportive, and less intimidating, while helping students build their problem-solving skills and confidence. In my free time, I enjoy playing the guitar and singing, which helps me relax and stay creative throughout the day. I graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering and am a licensed Electronics Engineer. My academic background gave me a strong foundation in mathematics, logical reasoning, and problem-solving, while my professional experience in Quality Assurance and Control further strengthened these skills. I also completed my TEFL certification and achieved a C2 Proficient level in the EF SET English test, which strengthened my communication skills and prepared me to support learners effectively.

I'm Ahsan, a second-year Accounting and Finance student at Queen Mary University of London. I tutor GCSE and A-Level Maths and Economics and I genuinely love helping students get to grips with topics that feel confusing at first. I have paid tutoring experience so I know how to break things down in a way that actually makes sense. I'm patient, friendly, and I'll work at whatever pace suits you best. I am currently in my second year studying BSc Accounting and Finance at Queen Mary University of London, giving me a strong and up-to-date understanding of the subjects I teach. Alongside my studies, I have professional experience in a finance environment which means I can bring real-world context to Economics and Maths topics, making them easier to understand and more engaging for students.

My approach is flexible and completely student-centred, because I understand that every learner is different and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to education. I break down complex topics into simple, manageable steps and create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building confidence. My goal is not just to help students succeed in their lessons, but to give them the skills, understanding and confidence to become independent learners beyond the classroom. I’m invested in every student’s progress and tailor each lesson to what works best for them. I completed my GCSEs in the United Kingdom, where I built a strong academic foundation and developed essential study skills. I then progressed to A-levels, allowing me to deepen my understanding of key subjects and prepare for the demands of higher education. I am currently studying at university, where I am further advancing my knowledge and skill

During the sessions, I work with my students through the agreed upon topic paying close attention to the core concepts, we go through some exam-style questions, and also learn how to frame the answers in the way examiners expect. I also share effecting studying and memory techniques to enable them to better learn and master their content. In my spare time, I enjoy singing (I'm currently taking a music theory class and hope to progress to one day play the cello) and dancing. These help me unwind and also have fun! I look forward to extending this interesting mixture of fun and learning to my students and help the strike that oh-so-elusive balance between work and play so that they can become the best versions of themselves.
