I have teaching experience with both college and high school students, which has allowed me to work with learners from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles. Hello, I am a stop motion animator and aspiring filmmaker based in Scotland. Stop motion has allowed me to focus on my passion for storytelling and combines my love of literature, theatre and art. I absolutely adore stories: reading them, watching them, and capturing them myself. I am dyslexic and it has taken me time to develop all of the studying tips and tricks that I now have the privilege to share with others. I’m also a keen gardener, baker and painter. I have a first class joint honours Master of Arts in English literature and Film & Visual Culture from the University of Aberdeen. I was given the Seafield medal for English and the Film 23’ prize for my dissertation. I also studied Geology, Geography and Ecology as elective subjects at university. I also recently completed the Aardman Academy animation courses SM1 and SM2. I did GCSE’s and IGCSE’s followed by the International Baccalaureate at St Leonard’s High School and attended the Royal Conservatoire Juniors Production program alongside. My main subjects at IB level were English, Environmental Systems and Societies, Maths, Italian, art and theatre.

I'm a Mathematics and Data Science graduate of the London School of Economics, and I now run a startup that uses machine learning in drug discovery, so I put the maths I teach to work every day. I studied Maths, Physics, Computer Science and Chemistry at A-level, earning an A* in Maths, and I'm a two-time gold medallist in the National Physics Olympiad. I tutor Maths, Physics and Computer Science from GCSE through A-level, and I also prepare students for university admissions tests and Oxbridge applications. Having recently sat these exams myself, I know exactly where students get stuck. My approach is patient and diagnostic: I find the gap, rebuild from there, and focus on real understanding and problem-solving rather than memorising. Most of all, I love helping students go from dreading a subject to feeling confident and capable in it. I attended St Paul's School, where I took A-levels in Mathematics (A*), Physics (A), Computer Science (A) and Chemistry (A), along with an A* EPQ in electrical and systems engineering. At GCSE I earned seven grade 9s, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science, and four grade 8s. I then studied for a BSc in Mathematics and Data Science at the London School of Economics (LSE), with coursework spanning machine learning, optimisation, real and complex analysis, probability and statistics, graph theory and algorithms. Alongside my degree I completed Harvard's CS50 and an MIT course in mathematics for finance. My specialisations are Maths, Physics and Computer Science at GCSE and A-level, and preparing students for university admissions tests (STEP, TMUA and ESAT) and Oxbridge applications. I'm also a two-time gold medallist in the National Physics Olympiad, which is exactly the kind of problem-solving these entrance exams reward.

Hi! My name is Mariyah, a friendly and dedicated Maths tutor currently on my gap year after completing my A-levels. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and reach their full potential in both GCSE Maths and 11+ preparation. Having recently been through the exam process myself, I understand how to explain topics clearly, boost exam technique, and make lessons engaging and approachable. My sessions are tailored to each student’s learning style, focusing on building understanding and confidence step by step. I have recently completed my A-levels at St Clement Danes, studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry, getting BCC. These subjects have strengthened my critical thinking skills, making me have a deeper appreciation for how much we use these subjects every day. Having done the exams, I understand the struggles the students face and how to support them.
