Hi, I’m Gurkaran! I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Birmingham (predicted 1st Class), and I specialise in making Maths and Science intuitive, engaging, and accessible. Having successfully tutored over 20 students across GCSE and A-Level to achieve and exceed their target grades, I know firsthand that no two students learn the exact same way. My approach focuses on diagnosing your unique learning style and breaking down abstract, complex concepts into manageable steps. Beyond just exam preparation, my goal is to build long-term confidence in STEM subjects. I design custom problem sets for my students and ensure parents are kept fully in the loop with structured milestone feedback. Whether you need help mastering the basics or pushing for top grades, I'm here to help you succeed! I am currently studying for a BEng in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, where I am on track to graduate with a First-Class degree. Prior to this, I achieved A's in A-Level Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, alongside a Silver Award in the Senior Physics Olympiad.

I tutor GCSE Maths and A-level Politics Exam board experience: Edexcel and AQA I have experience tutoring KS3 and sixth-form (11-18) My main aims as a tutor are to engage students with content that challenges them in a rewarding way, but also connect them to content that facilitates a change in their mindset. I’m an incoming Medicine student at King’s College London with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in helping students build confidence and achieve their goals. I have experience tutoring and mentoring younger students in Maths and English, and I enjoy breaking difficult topics down into clear, manageable steps. I’m patient, approachable and adaptable, and I tailor my teaching style to each student rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Outside academics, I enjoy football and other sports, and I’ve developed strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills through these activities. I have recently completed my A Levels at St. Olave's Grammar School in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, achieving A*AA, alongside an EPQ focused on neuroscience and the effects of smartphone use on the brain. In my GCSE's, I achieved 8 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and a Grade 7. I hold an unconditional offer to study Medicine at King’s College London and will begin the course following my gap year. My studies have given me a strong foundation in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, particularly at GCSE and A Level standard, as well as experience with independent research, critical thinking and scientific writing. I am also familiar with the demands of competitive university applications, including the UCAT and medical school interviews.

Hi, I’m Stephen, a medical student at the University of Nottingham with a strong interest in science and education. I achieved an A in A Level Chemistry and continue to develop and apply my scientific knowledge throughout my medical studies. Having been through GCSEs and A Levels myself, I understand that knowing the content is only part of doing well in Chemistry. Exam technique is just as important. Students can understand a topic well but still lose marks because they do not know what the question is asking for, how to structure their answer or which key words the mark scheme expects. I therefore place a strong focus on exam questions, mark schemes, identifying common mistakes and learning how to turn knowledge into marks. I also believe that Chemistry does not have to feel intimidating or boring. With clear explanations and the right approach, Chemistry can be fun and it is absolutely a subject you can do well in. I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, getting things wrong and gradually building their confidence. My approach is patient and adaptable because every student learns differently. Alongside tutoring, I have experience mentoring university students, which has strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly and support people towards their goals. Outside of Medicine and studying, I am a big football fan and enjoy running. I recently completed a half marathon, so I understand the value of consistency, discipline and gradually improving over time. I try to bring the same mindset into tutoring. You do not need to understand everything immediately. With consistent practice and the right guidance, progress follows. My goal is to help students understand Chemistry, master their exam technique and become confident enough to work towards grades 7 to 9. I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Nottingham, where I have developed a strong scientific foundation across areas including Chemistry, Biology, physiology and human health. My degree has strengthened my analytical thinking, problem solving and communication skills, all of which I bring into my tutoring. Before starting Medicine, I completed A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, achieving an A in Chemistry. Chemistry has always been one of my strongest subjects and remains an area I enjoy teaching. My current medical studies allow me to continue applying scientific concepts at university level, while my experience mentoring students has helped me develop a patient, clear and supportive approach to explaining difficult topics and improving exam technique.

Hi! I am a current medical student who enjoys and is passionate about learning. I am hoping to help develop a similar love for learning within tutees that motivates them to want to understand what they are learning. I specialise in tutoring mainly in Biology, Psychology, Chemistry, and Math. Having studied the IBDP, I understand the benefit of a good comprehension and understanding so that they can not just work through one subject, but also balance a multitude of subjects and extracurricular activities, especially as a busy secondary student. This will then provide them with greater critical understanding and knowledge to help them to get to where they want to be academically. I hope to get to know the student so that I can provide specific student-centred tuition that matches the style of teaching and learning as closely as possible to allow the student to learn and understand the material much more effectively and efficiently. Outside of learning to help wind down, I enjoy sports, particularly netball and football. As well as reading and listening to music. I studied the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) at school. Studying Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology at Higher level, and then Math AI, Spanish Ab Initio and English Literature at standard level. I achieved 40 points, including 7s in Math and Psychology, and 6s in the others. As well as an A in my world studies (Biology and Economics) extended essay on the treatment of Parkinson's Disease using Levodopa. I am an incoming 2nd-year medical student at the University of Aberdeen, and I passed first year with all A's, earning a distinction for the year. During the year, I completed a project on Delirium vs Dementia, also earning a distinction. I have also previously tutored some SEN students, including a student with autism and ADHD.
