Now that I'm finishing my degree, I want to provide that support to students who need additional help in order to get through their exams, especially in turbulent conditions. I hope to make learning fun and exciting, and make studying less of a chore, and more of an adventure! I'm more than happy to provide support on applications for further study and/or employment. There's a lot of confusing information out there, so quickly, it's nice to have a friendly face to ask for advice :) Chemistry BSc at the University of Birmingham. Subjects I can teach: Lower Level: All subjects at a primary level, 11+ GCSE: Geography, Spanish International Baccalaureate: Geography Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, IB syllabus Languages: English- Native language & Spanish up to an IB higher level standard. Preferred student age group: Primary/ GCSE About me: I have just graduated for Durham University with a First Class degree in Geography. At Sixth Form I took the IB where I studied Spanish, biology and geography at a higher level and maths, English and environmental systems and societies at a standard level. All together I achieved 39 IB points. Throughout my studies I have frequently taken part in mentoring schemes, helping me to, not only help other students, but to also further my knowledge in the given subject. After Sixth Form I took a gap year in the hope of travel however COVID prevented me from doing so, so instead I worked in retail whilst reading in preparation for university. I am half Spanish and love to travel; my favourite excursions being the frequent visits to Spain to see my grandparents. My other hobbies include dancing (from the age of 4), going to the gym, crotchet and just generally spending time with my friends and family. University has provided me with a wealth of transferable skills, the most important of which is the ability to learn, teach and communicate remotely. I've discovered that there are numerous advantages to taking online classes, such as the efficiency, flexibility, and variety of lesson styles that can be used. The most important aspect of online teaching is engagement; lessons must be tailored to keep the target audience ’s attention.

I am a recent graduate with a masters degree in physics from the University of Manchester, currently working as a theoretical physics researcher. I also have experience giving one on one classes to an A level physics student in London. I have always loved maths and physics and feel as though the key is to find the way of understanding the subject that works for you, and this is my approach to tutoring. I am also a big lover of music and food and spend a lot of my free time cooking and eating. I obtained A*s at A-level in physics, maths and spanish and went on to study an MPhys in physics at the University of Manchester, specialising in theoretical physics, from which I graduated with a first class degree. Whilst studying physics I continued learning languages at university taking 1 year of spanish and 2 years of russian. Since graduating I have been working as a junior researcher in the Department of Theoretical Physics at the University of Zaragoza in Spain performing research into the possible detection of dark matter candidate particles.

I love languages! I am able to teach french and spanish in lower level, GCSE and A-level! I have been tutor for the last 7 years to people that range from 15 to 60 years old. Although I prefer working with adult students, I am also open to working with teenagers! I am experienced in the british exam system. I have been a tutor with GS for more than two years now! :) Being from Colombia, Spanish is my native language. However, I speak English and french fluently and I study other languages such as German, Dutch, Italian and Portuguese. As I have more experience tutoring French, I prefer students that are interested in this language. The thing I love the most about languages is how it broadens your way of thinking to unimagined borders. It's really amazing to understand people from different backgrounds and to see the world from other points of view. Besides languages, I also love creating digital art and dancing. Finally, I work as an engineer in France where I live since 2022! I studied french in the Alliance Française for almost 2 years before going in exchange to France in 2016. When I returned home in 2017, I started giving French lessons and learning how to manage my classes with students of all ages. I've been living, studying and working in France for more than 4 years now! On the tutoring end, I have had one on one Spanish and French classes for almost 8 years now.

Studied at Oundle School from the age of 13 through to the end of A-levels, indulging in sports and the arts. This gives me a strong basis to tutor and I know the varying current curriculums very well. Throughout my gap year I volunteered in a private wildlife reserve in Southern Namibia, where I learnt many skills and developed as a person. I hope to be able to help out in any way that I can!

Spanish tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence
After Chinese, Spanish is the second-most spoken native language on the planet, and is the official language of 21 countries around the world. It’s also one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
Learning Spanish can give your child an advantage as they enter what is sure to be a competitive global job market in the future.
Learning a new language can be intimidating, but having a Spanish tutor is a great way to boost confidence and make learning enjoyable. The tutor can go over anything your child didn’t understand in class and help them get ahead in their schoolwork, as well as establish study goals to track progress.
Your child can also practice their skills by having conversations, with the tutor able to correct any mistakes they may make as they go along.
The advantages of studying Spanish
Speaking Spanish means you can interact with the more than 500 million people all over the world who have Spanish as their native language, as well as the 450 million people who speak it as a foreign language. It’s also considered easier to learn than many other languages, such as French or Russian.
Jobs related to speaking Spanish include:
Another reason to study Spanish is that it has a long and rich history. Learning Spanish allows your child to study the works of Miguel de Cervantes, important texts written during the Enlightenment and Romantic periods of literature and even great Hispanic music.
At GoStudent, our Spanish tutors have a lot of experience teaching at primary school level. They will work with your child on speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The objective of our primary tutoring programme is to make Spanish fun and foster a lifelong love for the language. Our Spanish tutors work towards academic objectives through interactive games, songs and multimedia tools. They can also include Spanish and Hispanic culture and geography to strengthen learning.
Spanish exam preparation and Spanish revision classes
At GoStudent, we will match your child to a tutor who knows the curriculum well, whether for a GCSE, an A level in England or Wales, a Leaving Cert in Northern Ireland or Ireland or the National 3,4,5 Higher or Advanced Higher in Scotland.
The Spanish tutor can work with your child to determine which aspects of speaking, reading, and writing require the most attention, and devise a strategy to help them improve their skills. They can also help your child prepare for the final exam, reducing any stress so they can perform to the best of their ability.

As well as Spanish, does GoStudent offer private tuition in other subjects?

Your child isn't tied into one subject with GoStudent. Maybe your child needs support with Spanish now but as their needs change we can also offer tuition across different subjects.
How can your child benefit from private Spanish tuition?
The main reason that parents often start to look for a Spanish tutor is to improve their child’s academic performance. It’s needless to say that tutoring will prepare your child for important Spanish exams and tests and address specific problem areas that they might have in a particular subject. Your child’s grades and understanding of Spanish will improve when working with a tutor, but there are other benefits you might consider when deciding whether to opt for private Spanish tutoring. Tutoring encourages self-directed learning. This means that your child will learn to take the initiative in their schoolwork with the result that they will feel less overwhelmed or frustrated with school and more in control of their own learning. They will also learn study skills that will help them in life when it comes to university and beyond. Whether it’s learning to overcome obstacles in their studies, losing the fear of asking questions or even working on their social skills.
